Kataib Hezbollah is a designated terrorist group that is de facto funded using US taxpayer dollars. The US provides military assistance to the Iraqi government. The Iraq government, in turn, funds the Popular Mobilization Forces, an umbrella group that coordinates Iraq’s militias. Kataib Hezbollah is the dominant militia within the PMF. So Iraq is acting as an undesignated state sponsor of terrorism, and they are doing it with US taxpayer dollars.
